Overview

The position is responsible for integrated community mobilization at community and hotspot/village level. S/he will be responsible for implementation of all aspects of integrated community mobilization including WASH, FSL and Nutrition behavior change approaches. S/he will be managed by the Supervisor CM.

Objective 1

To implement integrated community mobilisation and related activities

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Conduct community based/ outreach activities in line with the detailed implementation plan (DIP) and activity scoping documents (ASDs) including house-to-house visits, trainings, awareness raising and distributions;

·         Ensure compliance of activities in line with the relevant standards, codes of conduct, and humanitarian principles, including ensuring full and inclusive participation;

·         Form and train any project-specific or wider committees, groups, networks or volunteers;

·         Utilize appropriate tools (including IEC materials, reporting formats and manuals);

·         Complete transparent and appropriate selection of beneficiaries for all project activities;

·         Ensure that communities are informed of all processes, complaint mechanisms, selection criteria and distributions in an open and timely manner;

·         Conduct cash distributions as per internal and external guidelines;

·         Engage community and local leaders to support community mobilization activities;

·         Conduct MUAC screening, assessments, surveys and surveillance under the guidance of the Nutrition Supervisor;

·         Coordinate with Shifa Foundation Team for referrals and follow up;

·         Consider cultural, gender and inclusion within all activities;

·         Support IDP tracking mechanism;

·         Support emergency response as required;

·         Proactively seek support from supervisors where s/he recognizes issues within a specific community either security or programme related;

·         Ensurecompliance with the Charter and the fight against fraud, corruption and abuse of power; alert the Field Coordinator and / or Country Director in the event of fraud, corruption or abuse of power.

Objective 2

To maintain comprehensive records and report in a timely manner

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Attend and report progress within meetings;

·         Manage data collection, entry and analysis as per plan, tools and timeline;

·         Maintain, document and handover all project records in an organized and complete manner to enable audit of the project;

·         Support production of weekly, monthly and quarterly internal and external reports as requested;

·         Support implementation of quality MEAL;

·         Participate in the weekly coordination meetings, or other ad hoc internal meetings as requested;

·         Prepare handover/end of mission reports to cover periods of leave and/or upon exit from the project.

Objective 3

Network and coordinate with the relevant sectors

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Establish good Relationship with the Taluka and UC authorities and Community leaders
  • Establish a network with the other actors in the working area (INGO/NGOs)
  • Establish a good understanding of the program within the Community
  • Establish linked and meetings with the Community leaders and different group existing in the working area.

Objective 4

To assist in wider organizational development through learning

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Contribute to overall project design, activity implementation guidelines, training development, and documentation;

·         Highlight areas of improvement within the DIPs and ASDs.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIP

Internal

Regular Consultation with the OTP Nurse, Nutrition  Supervisor and Deputy Program Manager as necessary and liaise closely regarding progress nutrition activities

External

·         Keep close coordination with Committees member, CNVs, LHWs, MTMGS and other community stakeholders.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Daily/weekly/monthly progress reports;

  • Weekly/monthly compiled reports of screenings, referrals, defaulter tracing, awareness raising, house hold assessments and distributions.
