ACTED is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to the principles of non-discrimination and transparency. ACTED has been present in Pakistan since 1993. ACTED Pakistan programmes range from short-term emergency responses to recovery and rehabilitation, as well as longer-term development initiatives. ACTED strategy is to target vulnerable communities affected by natural and conflict-related disasters as well as lack of socio-economic development.

Implementation of the project

  • Manage and implement the project activities on the field;
  • Have a complete understanding of the project implemented;
  • Supervise and provide guidance and support other field teams;
  • Organize, control and supervise daily skilled and unskilled workers / project volunteers and give them useful instruction regarding their work improvement, through coordination with the relevant skilled staff;
  • Providing technical guidance, training and support to individuals targeted by each project in line with the programme strategy and intended output[s];
  • Ensure on time completion of the tasks by regular monitoring of the progress through the completion of construction logbooks;
  • Report to the WASH Project Manager on a daily basis about progress and challenges faced;
  • Liaising with programme staff of other ACTED teams to ensure that information is shared and that lessons learned are developed.

Assessment / Beneficiaries selection/village participation

  • Participate in the village/beneficiary selection following the instruction of the WASH Project Manager;
  • Ensure community mobilization by organizing meeting before, during and after the project and by involving the villagers at all the steps of the project and in the decision taken;
  • Ensure good mutual understanding and communication between ACTED team present in the village and the villagers;
  • Report all information to the Field Supervisor;

Documentation

  • Fill, Check & control daily Workers attendance sheet on daily basis;
  • Ensure the construction logbook and other documentation requested by the line manager is correctly completed.
  • Control that construction materials and tools are used properly, and complete waybills to accompany any movement of stock/tools between locations in the field / between the base and field.
