The European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) is seeking a qualified Administrative Logistics and Finance Assistant for its Islamabad office. This role plays a vital part in supporting DG ECHO’s humanitarian mission by managing procurement, logistics, office maintenance, and administrative and financial functions to ensure efficient daily operations. The position is open to Pakistani nationals and residents holding valid work and residence permits. Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement processes including preparation of purchase orders, contracts for goods and services, and tendering procedures.
- Provide logistics support and oversee the maintenance and provision of office equipment.
- Ensure smooth office maintenance and support various administrative functions.
- Perform financial duties related to budgeting, treasury management, and accounting.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with DG ECHO’s policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers and service providers to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Support vehicle maintenance and related logistical arrangements.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Handle multiple tasks efficiently and work well under pressure.
Required Qualifications
- A first-level university degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of relevant experience in administration, procurement, logistics, or finance at national or international levels.
- Solid knowledge of procurement processes, contract preparation, tendering, protocol, treasury, budgeting, and accounting.
- Proven accounting skills, with experience in governmental or international organizations considered an advantage.
- Valid driving experience, good knowledge of the local region, and familiarity with vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both oral and written) and Urdu (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and manage pressure.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience working in governmental or international organizations is highly desirable.
- The contract is initially for one year, with renewal based on performance following a three-month probation period.
- The monthly basic salary averages approximately PKR 240,552, with adjustments based on relevant professional experience.
