This role involves leading and managing the security team to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and property. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising security personnel while fostering a motivated and professional team. They will implement and maintain security protocols in compliance with local regulations and company standards, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. The position requires close collaboration with law enforcement and emergency services, managing incident investigations, and overseeing emergency response efforts to maintain high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and supervise the security team, ensuring continuous professional development and motivation.
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect guests, employees, and property.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company brand standards related to safety and security.
- Identify potential risks and take proactive measures to address safety concerns.
- Assist in investigations involving accidents, thefts, property loss, and policy violations.
- Manage emergency responses, including fires, medical incidents, and other safety hazards.
- Maintain effective communication with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on security-related matters.
- Review and maintain detailed security reports, incident records, and documentation.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with safety protocols and hotel standards.
- Enhance guest safety by reducing reported security incidents by 80% through the deployment of surveillance systems, stricter access control, and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to optimize emergency preparedness and response.
- Improve operational efficiency by streamlining visitor management and CCTV monitoring systems.
- Elevate staff performance and readiness by training and certifying over 50 security personnel in surveillance technology and emergency response procedures.
- Build and maintain strong external partnerships with law enforcement, emergency services, and local administration to ensure rapid incident response and strengthen the hotel’s reputation for safety and compliance.
- Manage the security budget effectively to ensure financial accountability and reduce unnecessary expenditures.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in recruiting, training, and supervising security teams.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response, and risk management.
- Familiarity with local regulations and compliance standards related to safety and security.
- Experience in conducting investigations related to accidents, thefts, and property loss.
- Ability to manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with law enforcement and emergency agencies.
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed security documentation and reports.
- Demonstrated success in implementing surveillance systems and access control measures.
- Experience leading emergency response teams and conducting staff training.
