AEM Developer

We are seeking a skilled AEM Developer with over 5 years of experience to design, develop, customize, and maintain enterprise websites, portals, and content management solutions using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in AEM Sites, component and template development, Java/J2EE, Apache Sling, OSGi, JCR, and modern front-end technologies. This role involves close collaboration with architects, UI/UX teams, business stakeholders, and integration teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital experiences across various environments including onsite, offshore, or hybrid setups.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, customize, and maintain websites, portals, and content management solutions using AEM.
- Develop reusable AEM components, templates, dialogs, workflows, Sling Models, and OSGi services.
- Implement responsive and user-friendly digital experiences based on UI/UX specifications.
- Develop and maintain integrations between AEM and external enterprise systems using REST APIs and other integration methods.
- Collaborate with content authors and business teams to create efficient content-authoring experiences.
- Develop and manage Content Fragments and Experience Fragments as required.
- Ensure AEM solutions adhere to development standards, reusable design patterns, and coding best practices.
- Optimize application performance, caching, content delivery, and overall user experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AEM applications, integrations, deployments, and production environments.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and solution planning.
- Work closely with AEM Architects, Front-End Developers, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, UX/UI Designers, and business stakeholders.
- Support deployments across development, QA, UAT, staging, and production environments.
- Maintain technical documentation for components, integrations, configurations, and development standards.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of software/web development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
- Proven experience in AEM Sites and component development, including components, templates, editable templates, dialogs, Content Fragments, and Experience Fragments.
- Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Apache Sling, OSGi, and JCR (Java Content Repository).
- Experience with HTL/Sightly and developing Sling Models, Servlets, Services, Schedulers, and OSGi configurations.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
- Experience integrating AEM with REST APIs and third-party or external systems.
- Understanding of AEM authoring and publishing environments.
- Familiarity with Git and standard CI/CD development practices.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills

- Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service and Adobe Cloud Manager.
- Knowledge of AEM Dispatcher, caching strategies, and CDN concepts.
- Familiarity with headless AEM implementations and GraphQL APIs.
- Understanding of Adobe Experience Cloud products.
- Experience integrating AEM with React or Angular frameworks.
- Awareness of AEM security, permissions, users, and groups.
- Knowledge of automated testing and code-quality tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and automated deployment pipelines.
