The Aga Khan Foundation (Pakistan) [AKF(P)] is seeking a high calibre professional for the following position.
BACKGROUND
The Aga Khan Helicopter Operations is primarily a Helicopter service in Pakistan providing Humanitarian Relief, Medical Support, VIP Transport, and providing support to partner organizations for passenger movement.
It started its service back in 1987, with two Bell 412 Helicopters currently operating AW-139 Helicopters only.
The Operations Hangar is based in Nurhan base, Rawalpindi with 02 Helicopters presently. The Trainee Engineer Program will eventually lead towards the Position of Licensed Engineer after 5 to 6 years of theoretical and Practical on Job Training. The position will report to the Maintenance Manager working in close coordination with other Licensed Engineers, Pilots, and Safety Manager to help in Scheduled/Unscheduled Base Maintenance and Flight Operations.
ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
- Education: Must have a bachelors degree in aerospace engineering, Engineering Degree, or Aircraft Engineering Program (AME). EASA Part 147 Modules passed will be preferred.
- Medical Fitness: Must have normal colour vision (No colour blindness). Fitness to work in Confined areas and Height. Must be able to pass initial medical fitness.
EXPERIENCE
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in Aircraft maintenance will be preferred.
COMPETENCIES
- Aviation Regulations: Familiarity with aviation safety standards, specifically from agencies like the EASA and IATA (preferred).
- Mechanical/Avionics Aptitude: Ability to grasp physical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical circuit designs.
- Manual Interpretation: Skill in reading complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Tool Proficiency: Safe handling of standard workshop equipment, diagnostic tool kits, and precision measuring devices.
- Academics: Must be able to complete all training requirements theoretical and practical for his/her License application during and after On Job Training.
Responsibilities- Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including visual inspections and component replacements, under supervision of licensed engineers (B1.3 or B2).
- Support troubleshooting processes to identify and resolve defects following established protocols.
- Conduct aircraft ground handling operations such as towing, refuelling, marshalling, preflight inspections, and preparing aircraft for dispatch.
- Utilize specific tools and calibrated equipment safely, adhering to tool control procedures including proper checking and return of tools.
- Maintain an accurate on-job training logbook, documenting all maintenance tasks and receiving authorized sign-off from supervisors.
- Read and accurately follow EASA-approved maintenance documentation, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Component Maintenance Manuals, and Structural Repair Manuals.
- Prepare aircraft components for installation with proper traceability, ensuring compliance with legal forms and shelf-life requirements.
- Observe Safety Management System regulations and promptly report technical defects, tool damage, or any safety hazards through the organization's reporting system.
- Support senior engineers in scheduled servicing tasks, including fluid changes and mechanical cleaning.
- Assist with dismantling, inspection, and rebuilding of airframe structures, including rotor blades, engines, and landing gear systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the aircraft, precision tools, calibration equipment, and the maintenance facility overall.
- Commit to continuous theoretical and practical training to fulfill licensing requirements during and after the training period.
- Adhere strictly to safeguarding policies and the code of conduct promoting dignity, respect, and zero tolerance for misconduct or harassment.
