AI Applications Engineer

The AI Applications Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining software applications that enhance COROS AI’s coaching capabilities. This position involves developing and integrating AI-powered features, optimizing system performance, and collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and coaching experts to translate human-centered requirements into effective technical solutions. The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve application issues, provide technical support to internal teams, and contribute to testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable deployments. Additionally, the role includes evaluating new tools and frameworks, improving development workflows, and documenting technical designs and implementation details to support team collaboration and long-term product growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven software applications that support COROS AI’s coaching platform.
- Integrate AI and machine learning features into existing systems to enhance user experience and functionality.
- Optimize system performance, scalability, and security across cloud-based architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and coaching experts to translate user needs into technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, performing root-cause analysis and providing timely technical support.
- Participate in testing, quality assurance, and deployment processes to ensure high reliability and performance.
- Evaluate and implement new development tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve workflows.
- Document technical designs, codebases, and implementation details to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.

Required Qualifications
- Strong software development skills with proficiency in modern programming languages, APIs, and cloud architectures.
- Experience in technical support and testing, including diagnosing issues, root-cause analysis, and validating system reliability.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, particularly when integrating AI applications with hardware or sensor-based systems.
- Experience with AI/ML integration, data processing pipelines, and working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
