AI Automation Expert (Claude, AI Agents & MCP)

We are seeking a hands-on AI developer who builds functional AI systems rather than just discussing AI concepts. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy AI agents and automations that streamline manual tasks both within our office and for our clients. You will also serve as the in-house expert on the latest AI advancements, guiding what new solutions we should create next.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop AI agents using Claude Code, the Claude API, the Agent SDK, and other relevant agent frameworks.
- Build and integrate MCP servers and Claude connectors with tools such as Gmail, Google Drive, CRMs, Slack, Monday.com, and calendar applications.
- Create and maintain Claude Skills to ensure workflows are repeatable and reliable.
- Automate various office workflows including lead research and enrichment, outreach sequences, reporting, proposal and quotation generation, inbox triage, and client onboarding.
- Connect multiple AI tools including Claude, GPT, Gemini, Muse, ElevenLabs, voice agents, n8n, Make, Zapier, Supabase, and Lovable to create seamless automation ecosystems.
- Develop client-facing AI products such as voice receptionists, reporting tools, and internal assistants.
- Test, monitor, and optimize AI agents to ensure consistent performance in production environments, beyond just demos.
- Keep abreast of new AI releases and provide monthly practical recommendations for new builds or product ideas.
- Document all developments thoroughly to enable team use and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

- Proven, hands-on experience with AI agents, automations, or tools that you personally built and managed, not just contributed to as part of a team.
- Strong proficiency with Claude Code, Claude Skills, MCP servers, and Claude connectors.
- Experience working with APIs from Anthropic, OpenAI, and at least one additional model provider.
- Familiarity with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier, including direct API and webhook integrations.
- Solid programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Up-to-date knowledge of recent AI launches across Claude, GPT, Muse, Gemini, and the broader agent ecosystem. This will be assessed during the interview process.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, tool utilization, context management, and methods to ensure consistent agent outputs.
- Awareness of data privacy and security best practices when connecting AI systems to business and client data, including basics of UK GDPR, API key management, and access permissions.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with voice AI technologies such as ElevenLabs, Vapi, or Retell.
- Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or knowledge base systems.
- Experience with rapid app-building platforms like Supabase or Lovable.
- CRM automation experience with tools like HubSpot, Apollo, or Monday.com.
- Background in transforming internal tools into marketable SaaS products.
- An active public presence showcasing your work, such as a GitHub repository, blog, YouTube channel, or LinkedIn profile.

Candidates must submit a portfolio demonstrating 2–3 projects they personally built, describing the problems solved, tools and models used, and measurable results such as hours saved or tasks automated. Demo links are required, which can include GitHub repositories, live project links, or short screen recordings (3–5 minutes) showcasing the projects in action.

Additionally, applicants should provide a brief written response (150 words or fewer) to the prompt: “Name one AI launch from the last 3 months and explain how you’d use it to automate something in a digital marketing agency.” A CV or LinkedIn profile, along with availability and salary expectations, should also be included.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a practical task, such as building a small AI agent or automation, prior to the final interview. Applications without proof of personal work will not be considered.
