AI Engineer (Cloud - Azure)

We are seeking a skilled AI Engineer with expertise in both Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud platforms to join our team at Softmatic Solutions, located in Garden Town, Lahore. This full-time onsite role operates from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM and requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining advanced enterprise AI solutions, including Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI Agents, supporting a variety of industries through innovative software and game development services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade Generative AI, LLM, and AI Agent solutions.
- Utilize Microsoft Azure AI technologies such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
- Work with Google Cloud AI tools including Vertex AI, Gemini, BigQuery, and BigQuery Conversational Analytics/Data Agents.
- Architect AI Agents that securely integrate with enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and business data sources.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector and semantic search, prompt engineering, tool calling, and function calling techniques.
- Integrate AI solutions with Azure SQL Database, BigQuery, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, and RESTful APIs.
- Ensure enterprise AI security by managing Microsoft Entra ID, Google IAM, RBAC, managed identities, service accounts, authentication, authorization, and enforcing least-privilege access.
- Apply security controls to protect sensitive data including PII/PHI, prevent prompt injection, unauthorized access, and data leakage.
- Optimize AI system performance focusing on response latency, retrieval speed, database queries, search/index efficiency, caching, and context management.
- Manage AI cost optimization through model selection, token usage, efficient prompting, minimizing unnecessary LLM calls, and cloud resource monitoring.
- Implement AI monitoring, logging, response evaluation, accuracy testing, hallucination reduction, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Design scalable AI solutions capable of handling large enterprise datasets.
- Preferably, have knowledge of Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Lead AI projects from proof-of-concept stages through secure, scalable production deployment.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or AI/ML Engineering with hands-on AI development.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
- Experience developing solutions using LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, and AI Agents.
- Practical experience with both Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with Gemini, Azure-hosted LLM solutions, BigQuery, and Azure SQL Database.
- Strong skills in building and integrating REST APIs and backend services.
- Deep understanding of enterprise authentication, authorization, AI security, and data privacy principles.
- Ability to optimize AI performance, scalability, token consumption, and cost.
- Capability to independently design, troubleshoot, and maintain complex enterprise AI solutions.
