AI Or ML Engineer (Mid)

We are seeking a mid-level AI/ML engineer capable of independently building and deploying explainable AI models and agentic workflows for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will develop models that not only predict outcomes but also provide clear explanations behind their decisions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure models are transparent, compliant, and integrated within governed human-in-the-loop processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, train, and evaluate machine learning models focused on forecasting, anomaly detection, and recommendation systems.
- Develop explainability layers that enable each recommendation to clearly articulate the reasoning, data sources, and policies involved.
- Build and deploy enterprise agents across domains such as finance, procurement, and HR, ensuring they operate within governed workflows that include human oversight.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to maintain model-ready, well-governed data pipelines that support reliable model performance.
- Implement MLOps best practices for seamless model deployment, continuous monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure all models adhere to organizational audit and governance standards, maintaining compliance with Sarmaya’s policies.

Required Qualifications

- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in machine learning engineering.
- Proficiency in Python programming and hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, vector databases, or large language model (LLM) based systems.
- Strong understanding of model governance and explainability techniques, including tools like SHAP, LIME, or similar frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with MLOps tooling and comprehensive model governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of agentic AI architectures and designing human-in-the-loop systems to ensure responsible AI deployment.
