Role Description
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will oversee and direct Ailaaj’s day-to-day business operations, ensuring that all business units (AHP, Ailaaj POS and eCommerce) operations are executed efficiently, service quality standards are maintained, and operational timelines and KPIs are consistently achieved.
This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, building scalable processes, ensuring cross-functional coordination, strengthening supply chain and fulfillment, and enabling technology adoption across the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to define long-term strategy and translate business goals into operational plans.
- Develop and implement organizational strategies, policies, and procedures that drive efficiency and growth.
- Lead strategic initiatives, expansions, and transformation programs across departments.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee daily business operations across all functional areas.
- Optimize processes, workflows, and operating systems to improve performance, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to ensure operational health.
3. Financial & Resource Management
- Partner with the CFO to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-control strategies.
- Ensure appropriate resource allocation for maximum ROI and operational efficiency.
- Drive financial discipline and operational accountability across the organization.
4. Organizational Development & Culture
- Build and develop high-performing teams; mentor functional leaders and foster strong collaboration.
- Strengthen company culture, employee engagement, and internal communication.
- Oversee talent management, succession planning, and recruitment processes aligned with organizational needs.
5. Risk & Compliance
- Ensure the company maintains compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Identify operational risks and build mitigation strategies.
- Oversee business continuity and crisis management planning.
6. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as a key liaison between the CEO, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
- Align cross-functional teams around shared goals and priorities.
- Support investor relations and board reporting with operational insights.
Key Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field required.
- MBA or executive-level education strongly preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior operations or general management role.
- Must have led or been a key contributor to product launches, preferably in scaled or multi-location environments.
- Proven track record in scaling operations and driving business growth.
- Demonstrated success managing large teams and complex cross-functional initiatives.
- FMCG industry background is a major plus, particularly experience in high-volume, fast-moving, distribution-driven operations.
