The AI/ML Engineer position at Skal is a full-time, on-site role based in Lahore. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models and AI systems to support both client-facing solutions and internal products. This role involves researching and implementing advanced algorithms, building and training neural network models, conducting data analysis and statistical modeling, and optimizing existing AI systems for improved performance and scalability. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into web and mobile applications, ensure stable production pipelines, and maintain thorough documentation of models, experiments, and outcomes. Monitoring deployed models, troubleshooting issues, and staying up-to-date with the latest AI/ML technologies and best practices are also key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI systems tailored to business needs.
- Research and implement algorithms, neural networks, and pattern recognition techniques for practical applications.
- Perform data analysis, statistical modeling, and quantitative evaluation to optimize model performance.
- Build end-to-end ML workflows, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, training, validation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate AI functionalities into web and app platforms.
- Ensure robust, scalable production pipelines and maintain comprehensive documentation of models and experiments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot deployed AI models to maintain reliability and efficiency.
- Continuously update knowledge of emerging AI/ML trends, tools, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science with solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- Hands-on experience with neural networks and pattern recognition techniques applied to real-world problems.
- Proficiency in statistics and quantitative analysis for model evaluation and tuning.
- Practical programming skills in languages commonly used in AI/ML, particularly Python.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Experience in building comprehensive ML workflows, from data preprocessing to deployment.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
