Role Overview

The Information Technology (IT) Manager advised CEO and top management on MIS, IT, network infrastructure and computer systems requirements, specifications, costs and limits. They provide input, guidance and suggestions to CEO and top management team on how to improve and manage our telephony systems, WAN, LAN, SAN and EDI computer platforms, network capabilities and security which supports the Company’s business data base, software, equipment and security requirements as well as future growth. They will be responsible for developing and troubleshooting for network maintenance and growth plans, preparing annual budgets, set-up and inventory of hardware/software requirements and installations at multiple locations as directed as well as business needs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage IT and computer systems, information security and protocol
  • Maintenance and management of network infrastructure and systems administration
  • Purchase, update, maintenance and application of software applications e.g. MS Windows, MS Office Suite, MS Server Operating Systems Windows 2012, MS Office 360 Cloud
  • Hands-on server hardware
  • Working knowledge of data base systems – ERP (MS Dynamics). SQL, Oracle and others a plus
  • Thorough knowledge about configuration, management and handling of firewalls e.g. SOPHOS, FORTINET and CISCO, and including manageable network switches
  • Responsible for equipment and VPNs
  • Plan and execute purchase, installation and upgrade of VOIP telephone systems, hardware and networks e.g. AVAYA
  • Plan and execute purchase, installation and upgrade of CCTV equipment and network
  • Work with top management and HODs to plan and budget for purchase, setup, tagging/inventory, and handling of desktops/laptops, IT related equipment/accessories, audio/visual and telephone systems
  • Conduct meetings and coordinate at multiple levels
  • Work with vendors and internal customers to ensure smooth operations and timely  resolution to issues at multiple locations
  • Develop innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
  • Work closely with HODs to determine maintenance and growth needs of network
  • Monitor changing network technology and deliver a quarterly report to CEO and top management team each quarter
  • Develop and administer disaster preparedness and recovery plans to keep Company data and Company functional in the event of a crisis
  • Flexibility and preparedness to make necessary adjustments on the go while working on deadlines, and to resolve issues
  • Able to work in a very fast paced environment, build relationships, coordinate activities and meetings with Company stakeholders and support multiple locations
  • Able to understand and plan for budgetary requirements with cross functional team members
  • Work closely with GM-HR, Admin & Compliance to administer and achieve quarterly goals and objectives
  • Administer and work in alignment with company policy and procedures
  • Take ownership and proactive approach to meet departmental targets, activities and deliverables
  • Work with and manage their relationship with all members of the Company to promote smooth operations of the department’s functions and deliverables
  • Take care and establish and practice sensitivity of work proprieties and data/information confidentiality at all times
  • Participate and contribute in team meetings and activities
  • Foster a healthy work environment of learning
  • Maintain a “can do” attitude and willing to do whatever else that is asked of him/her

Qualifications

  • Masters in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
  • Min experience of 5 years in similar role
  • Experienced user in ERP (MS Dynamics preferred), MS Windows, MS Office Suite, MS Windows 2012, MS Office 360 Cloud, firewalls SOPHOS/FORTINET/CISCO, and VOIP telephone systems e.g. AVAYA
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English and Urdu
