Al Baraka International Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to lead the development and optimization of manufacturing processes within the sheet metal fabrication domain. This role demands an expert proficient in CNC punching, laser cutting, press brake bending, welding, and assembly, as well as comprehensive experience managing the transition from prototype to mass production. The Senior Process Engineer will lead a team of 10, driving cross-functional collaboration to enhance production efficiency, improve quality standards, and introduce innovative tooling and fixture designs. The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of six years of relevant industry experience and a strong background in lean manufacturing and process optimization.
This position plays a critical role in new product introduction (NPI), ensuring smooth and cost-effective ramp-up of manufacturing processes to meet market demands. The Senior Process Engineer works closely with design, quality, and production teams to identify and resolve manufacturing issues while implementing best practices in process control and improvements. With hands-on experience and leadership capabilities, this professional will mentor team members, manage resources effectively, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that align with strategic business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes for sheet metal components, ensuring alignment with production goals and quality standards.
- Manage and mentor a team of 10 engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging professional growth.
- Apply expertise in CNC punching, laser cutting, press brake bending, welding, and assembly to optimize operations and reduce cycle times.
- Oversee the introduction of new products from prototype stages through to mass production, coordinating all technical and process requirements.
- Design and develop tooling and fixtures that support improved manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Drive process optimization initiatives through lean manufacturing methodologies to minimize waste and improve resource utilization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, supply chain, and production teams to resolve technical challenges and improve product manufacturability.
- Conduct detailed process analysis and implement corrective actions to maintain high levels of process capability and product conformity.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to align on tooling and material specifications and uphold quality standards.
- Monitor manufacturing process metrics and generate reports to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and support decision making.
- Ensure all process documentation, including work instructions and process flow charts, are accurate and up to date.
- Lead continuous improvement projects that drive efficiency gains and reduce costs while maintaining safety and compliance.
