To maintain and repair electrical systems of vehicles and equipment using the approved standards procedures to ensure continual operation of vehicles, in accordance with established policies and procedures
Key Accountabilities:
- Determine the malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection of vehicle / equipment to repair/replace the faulty system as per standard procedures
- Complete the installation of electrical equipment such as gauges, lighting, alternators, and starter
- motors in cars, and electrically operated accessories to ensure all the vehicles are operating effectively.
- Study the circuit diagrams to find the electrical faults and defects and repair them to ensure the repairs are completed on time
- Examine and test the alternators, generators, starter motors, voltage regulators, batteries, ignition systems, electrical fuses, lamps, and switches to maintain all the electrical systems in good conditions in the vehicles
- Assess the engine ignition systems of different types of vehicles and equipment to identify any delays or faults and adjust as per the standard requirements
- Keep the repairing tools in good condition to avoid any delays in repairs and maintenance of equipment
- Use all safety equipment in the work area to ensure the health and safety standards of the department are met
- Evaluate the quality and quantity of the electronic spare parts and materials to avoid wastage and reworks
