An upcoming brand wishes to hire a sample and/or pattern master for its sampling / product development department.
1) Develops design for garment, adapts existing design for garment, or copies existing design for garments.
2) Alters garment and joins parts, using needle and thread or sewing machine, to form finished garment.
3) Manage stiching sewers (Karigars) under his chain of command. Be able to guide, train and manage up to 10 sewers (Karigars).
4) Understand the daily requirements of the product merchandizers and textile fashion designers and turn their thoughts to realities.
5) Be able to hand and work under pressure and sometimes overtime
6) Understand pattern making and their component parts. But be able to write and read English and label individual parts properly.
7) Product development is all about creation and perfection. The eye of a perfectionist is must in a sample tailouring master
8) Measures sizes understand pattterns and use tape measure and records measurements of customized orders
9) Positions pattern of garment parts on fabric/cardboards and cut fabric or cardboard accordingly with various grading techniques whilst following outlines using scissors.
