- Achieves the goals by planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, delegating, monitoring, controlling, and regulating various laboratory functions.
- Ensures the quality of testing in all diagnostic facilities provided by the laboratory.
- Develops the laboratory strategic plan in consultation with other stakeholders.
- Oversees all technical and managerial functions.
- Ensures periodic, preventive maintenance and prompts repair of the entire laboratory equipment.
- Undertakes periodic/regular reviews of the laboratory services to identify lapses and takes measures for improvement.
- Ensures implementation of the standard operating procedures (sops) for infection control.
- Ensures that laboratory protocols and procedures are amended from time to time as per requirement /institutional instructions.
