Allied International Trade Agencies is seeking a skilled System Administrator to maintain, monitor, and support shipping software systems and operational process workflows. The ideal candidate ensures continuous system performance, software availability, and data accuracy, facilitating smooth integration between shipping, warehouse, and logistics systems. This role involves configuring and managing servers, databases, and network systems to support shipping operations effectively. The System Administrator also provides technical support, conducts training for staff, and ensures cybersecurity and compliance within the department.
This position requires managing a team of 10 persons, emphasizing leadership and coordination skills to oversee system administration tasks across multiple platforms. The System Administrator collaborates closely with software vendors and IT teams to implement upgrades, resolve issues, and maintain documentation for system configurations and operational procedures. This role demands strong problem-solving abilities and thorough knowledge of Windows Server, Linux systems, network administration, shipping/logistics software, and ERP systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor shipping and logistics software applications to ensure optimal operation.
- Manage and configure servers, databases, and network systems that support shipping software.
- Monitor system performance and shipment process flow, identifying and resolving any issues promptly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and connectivity problems impacting shipping operations.
- Ensure uninterrupted software workflows to support efficient shipping processes.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain secure system usage.
- Perform regular system backups, updates, and implement disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data.
- Coordinate with software vendors and internal IT teams to handle system upgrades and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, workflows, and operational procedures.
- Monitor cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with system security standards.
- Provide technical support and training to shipping department staff, enhancing their system proficiency.
- Analyze current operational workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and manage a team of 10 personnel, facilitating effective communication and task delegation within the system administration function.
