The job
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our growing and talented engineering team to help us build the future of AMI Digital. As a Software Engineer at AMI Digital, you will create frontend and backend applications with the scope to upskill your knowledge of modern cloud applications using major cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP. The job entails having a good understanding of project management and leading a team to meet deadlines and productivity goals.
You will quickly be able to make your mark by maintaining and developing our next generation of products and will be given the autonomy and freedom to create the developments how you see fit.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead a team to meet deadlines and productivity goals
- Maintaining and developing our next generation of products
- Contributing to the design and implementation of new and existing software
- Performing code assignments and collectively crafting high-quality code
- Contributing to the common codebases and standards for your team
- Reviewing code changes for accuracy, functionality, and risk
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and bring your opinion and experience to the table.
- Break down complex problems into more minor problems that can be picked up by teams to implement
- Mentor team members
What you'll have:
- Experience in Project Management and team building
- Experience with PHP and Laravel
- Experience with Databases mush Mysql / Postgres is a must
- Strong grasp of design patterns, SOLID & Clean code principles.
- Good command and Knowledge of Vue3, HTML & CSS/CSS3 (High Proficiency), JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks
- Experience with cloud hosting providers (AWS) – desirable
- Experience with writing and consuming APIs. Web services knowledge is a must (SOAP, REST)
- Good Knowledge of Unit Testing and Documentation.
- Good Knowledge of Application & Data security.
- The capabilities and desire to work in a startup atmosphere
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with an innovative mindset
- Self-starter attitude, taking ownership and driving forward the work from conception to delivery
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to interact efficiently with others
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies
- Knowledge of UI/UX standards and responsive web design
- Fluent in English
