Android Developer

Innovative Code Lab is seeking a skilled Android Developer to join our fully remote team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications that deliver excellent performance and user experience. You will work closely with product and design teams to implement new features, optimize existing code, and integrate applications with backend services and APIs. The position requires adherence to mobile development best practices, writing clean and maintainable code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting issues across various devices and operating system versions. Additionally, you will contribute to technical documentation and support improvements in development processes and tooling.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications with a focus on performance, usability, and reliability.
- Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and backend developers to implement new features and enhancements.
- Optimize existing codebases to improve efficiency and maintainability.
- Integrate Android applications with RESTful APIs, backend services, and third-party SDKs.
- Follow best practices in mobile development, including writing clean, testable, and maintainable code.
- Participate actively in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across different Android devices and OS versions.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
- Assist in refining development processes and tooling to enhance team productivity.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in mobile application development, specifically building Android applications.
- Strong understanding of Android development principles and design guidelines, including UI/UX best practices and Material Design.
- Solid foundation in software development concepts such as object-oriented programming, design patterns, and version control systems like Git.
- Proficiency with Android SDK, Kotlin and/or Java, Android Studio, and commonly used libraries and frameworks.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating backend services and third-party SDKs.
- Ability to write clean, testable code and familiarity with unit testing or UI testing frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
