The Android Developer will be a key contributor to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of high-quality Android applications that drive the growth of MGOIS, a rapidly expanding IT company. This role focuses on delivering scalable and user-centric mobile solutions within an agile environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to create outstanding app experiences that support business expansion across multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and the Android SDK (supporting Android 5.0 and above).
- Oversee the full Android application development lifecycle, from concept and design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Build and improve world-class mobile products that facilitate business growth in 10 countries.
- Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, QA, and Backend teams to ensure seamless and high-quality app experiences.
- Implement modern Android architectural patterns such as MVVM or other MV* frameworks.
- Integrate RESTful Web APIs and third-party tools into Android applications.
- Utilize Dependency Injection frameworks like Dagger2 and Android Architecture Components.
- Identify and resolve bugs and performance issues to ensure applications are responsive, reliable, and high-performing.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain and enhance code quality across the development team.
- Implement unit and UI testing using JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, and related testing frameworks.
- Apply reactive programming techniques using RxJava where applicable.
- Engage actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with the team to convert product backlog items into completed and deliverable features.
- Use version control systems (Git) and adhere to established branching and CI/CD strategies.
- Continuously learn, adapt, and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Android application development.
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile development environments.
- Hands-on experience with modern Android development tools, frameworks, and libraries.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
- Willingness to learn, mentor others, and continuously improve technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Ability to reliably commute to or plan relocation to Lahore Johar Town prior to starting work is preferred.
- This is a full-time, in-person position.
- While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Candidates with a strong background in Android development and agile methodologies will be highly valued.
