Ansaar Management Company (Pvt) Limited seeks a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join its team on a contractual basis for a two-month project. The role requires an experienced professional with a minimum of three years in health and safety management. The officer will lead a small team of one person, overseeing the implementation of rigorous health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment across the project site. This position demands strong expertise in risk assessment, compliance audits, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness, ensuring all operations adhere to regulatory standards and company policies. The Health and Safety Officer plays a crucial role in accident prevention and continuous improvement of workplace safety programs through effective training, documentation, and reporting.
The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough risk assessments and hazard identifications, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of NEBOSH and OSHA standards, and performing safety audits. They will coordinate training and awareness sessions to enhance health and safety practices among team members and contractors. Accurate and detailed incident investigations and documentation are essential components of this role to facilitate compliance and improve safety measures. The officer must be proficient in using MS Excel to manage data and reporting effectively. Working within a project-based environment, the Health and Safety Officer will demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies while maintaining compliance and fostering a culture of safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate controls.
- Lead incident investigations to determine causes and prevent recurrence, documenting findings thoroughly and accurately.
- Ensure compliance with NEBOSH, OSHA, and other relevant health and safety regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of laws and standards.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures covering emergency preparedness and accident prevention.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to staff and contractors to promote a strong culture of safety and compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting records related to health and safety activities, inspections, incidents, and training.
- Coordinate with management and relevant stakeholders to ensure health and safety goals are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety controls and recommend continuous improvements.
- Manage and supervise a team member dedicated to supporting health and safety functions, providing guidance and oversight.
- Utilize MS Excel to track, analyze, and report safety-related data and metrics efficiently.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations and health and safety incidents on site.
