Responsibilities:
- Deliver secure, scalable, and easy-to-maintain WordPress solutions using engineering best practices and coding standards
- Responsible for guiding technical discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Responsible for mutually agreed outcomes with clients, partners, and other stakeholders Responsible for understanding how system functions contribute to the strategic direction of the business and the ability to make valuable contributions
- Responsible for solving problems effectively by gathering insight from team members, ensuring that they have all the information they need for accurate analysis and consideration, involving them and supporting them as needed
- Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and solving problems systematically rather than solely by intuition or instinct; look for root causes, not just symptoms of the problem; weigh pros and cons of actions, and decide when to escalate issues
- Responsible for providing a response to production incidents, work on corrective actions and ensure timely updates of such to customers and other internal stakeholders and issues for communication and reference purposes
- Write and maintain technical project documentation including inline code commenting, Git repo readme, and clear commit messages
- Respect timelines and communicate progress proactively. We are a remote team, so proactive communication is very important
- Help other engineers on the team through architectural reviews, code reviews, and other peer reviews
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
Requirements:
- 4+ years of relevant WordPress Development experience
- 2+ years of experience using agile methodologies
- 2+ years of experience using Git source code versioning and Pull Requests
- 2+ years of working in a consulting or agency environment with enterprise-level clients
- Experience with WordPress development technologies such as WordPress CLI, Configuration Management, and Composer
- A decent understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience providing technical consulting and support
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and large scale application deployment
- Experience with other content management systems and open-source technologies
- Experience with plugins like Visual composer, Divi, WP bakery, Elementor, WooCommerce, and Gutenberg block development is a plus
- Experience with WordPress REST API
- Competent English communication and team collaboration skills
