Responsibilities:
- Working with the team to deliver well-crafted software.
- Questioning things all the time. Our ways of working, the features the team is implementing, the technologies we’re using.
- Learning from some of the best in the business through pairing and knowledge sharing sessions.
- Supporting teams in adopting new tools and practices.
- Contributing to ensuring the right test tooling and frameworks and practices (e.g. shift-left) are in place to help the teams to deliver against the business goals.
- Promote testing at all sets of the development cycle.
- Review test plans and test cases with the delivery scrum teams, and be able to use your expertise and initiative to add value to the current test pack for testing the applications to the core, from an end-to-end perspective.
Requirements:
Technical:
- Automated test tools e.g. BDD, performance testing tools.
- Exploratory testing tools e.g. Postman.
- Security best practice e.g. OWASP top 10.
- Continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
- Experience in agile and XP practices.
- 2-3+ years in a similar role.
- Must understand SDLC.
- Strong IT academic background.
- Web / Mobile and API testing experience.
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Knowledge of a programming language (.NET, Node, etc).
- Test Plan development and documentation.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Bug tracking systems (Mantis, ClearQuest, FogBugz, JIRA).
- Experience working in an Agile development process.
QA & Testing
- Solid understanding and practical experience of testing practices e.g., TDD, BDD, ATDD, performance, security.
- Testing microservices and cloud architectures.
- Testing microservice architectures delivered using a combination of RESTful APIs and messaging.
- Experience in identifying and defining quality metrics to help improve the overall quality of the product.
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering and the role that testing plays in that.
