Production Manager

Production manager plans, directs and coordinates the production activities that produce millions of goods every year. They make sure production proceeds smoothly and stay within budget. Depending on the size of the manufacturing plant, industrial production manager may oversee the entire plant or just one area.

Job Purpose

Find ways to make the production process more efficient. Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs. Ensure finished product meets a certain level of quality.

Formulating production plans
To oversee the production process and draw a production schedule
To ensure that the production is cost effective
Meeting deadlines against production schedule and as per desired quality
To work out the human & material resources needed
Draft a timescale for the job
Estimate costs and setting the quality standards
Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs
Liaison among different departments
Working with managers to implement the companys policies & goals
Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed
Supervise and motivate a team of workers
Reviewing the performance of subordinates
Identify training needs and train people where required
Other duties as assigned
