We are seeking a qualified legal professional with a Foreign or Local LLB, Barrister-at-Law, or Solicitor qualification, possessing a minimum of five years of experience in legal and legislative matters within either the public or private sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and reviewing Conventions, Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Contracts, and various other legal documents. This role requires a solid understanding of international law and the ability to provide well-informed legal opinions on policy and regulatory issues. Experience in legislative drafting is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with public sector experience, followed by those from state-run corporations or entities, and then reputable private corporations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Conventions, Agreements, MOUs, Contracts, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Providing legal advice and opinions on policy, regulatory matters, and international law issues.
- Engaging in legislative drafting and contributing to the development of legal frameworks.
- Collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to address legal and legislative concerns.
- Ensuring all legal documentation aligns with organizational objectives and statutory requirements.
- Monitoring changes in legislation and advising on their impact on the organization.
- Supporting dispute resolution and risk management related to legal matters.
Required Qualifications
- A recognized Foreign or Local LLB degree, Barrister-at-Law, or Solicitor qualification.
- At least five years of relevant experience in legal and legislative matters within the public or private sector.
- Proven experience in drafting and reviewing Conventions, Agreements, MOUs, Contracts, and other legal documents.
- Strong knowledge of international law principles and the ability to render legal opinions on policy and regulatory issues.
- Demonstrated experience in legislative drafting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
