The University Main Office is seeking an experienced Assistant Director for University Governance to join its Directorate. This role is critical in drafting and presenting governance, policy, and institutional documents that keep university leadership and stakeholders well-informed. The successful candidate will work closely under the direction of the Director to produce clear, accurate, and timely documentation related to governance and stewardship activities. This position requires a professional with a strong background in drafting board minutes, policies, annual reports, and executive papers, ideally within higher education, the public sector, or non-profit organizations.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director University Governance will serve as the primary drafting resource within the Directorate, responsible for producing a variety of governance and stewardship documents. Responsibilities are divided into two main areas:

a. Endowment & Trust Stewardship
- Prepare annual reports for each endowment and trust, presenting them to their respective Boards.
- Attend Board meetings to draft agendas, Board papers, minutes, and resolutions for the secretariat.
- Develop governance policies, terms of reference, and founding documents for Boards, including policies on Board conduct, conflict of interest, delegation of authority, and disbursement.
- Compile periodic governance status reports and donor stewardship summaries to keep stakeholders updated.

b. Commercial Stewardship
- Draft the commercial stewardship report, which includes the commercial register, sponsorship reviews, and net returns by arrangement.
- Create commercial policy frameworks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and terms of reference.
- Write review papers evaluating commercial proposals and sponsorship terms against established frameworks.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public policy, law, management, English, communication, or a related field from an HEC-recognized institution.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience drafting governance, policy, and institutional documents, preferably within higher education, public sector, or non-profit settings.

Terms and Conditions
Applicants must submit scanned copies of all academic and professional documents. The last educational certificate or degree must be attested or verified by HEC. Candidates may be disqualified for any of the following reasons: a third division in academic records, a weak academic profile, less than one year of service for current NUST employees without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Institution, currently pursuing the required degree, or being medically unfit.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for tests or interviews, and no travel allowance or daily allowance will be provided. Candidates currently employed in government departments or armed forces must apply through their respective parent organizations. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

The University reserves the right to cancel, modify, or terminate the recruitment process at any stage without prior notice.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the governance and stewardship functions of a leading academic institution, ensuring transparency and accountability in institutional operations.
