This role involves supporting the management, planning, and operation of an ICT-based technical platform encompassing a wide range of infrastructure and network technologies. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing data centre infrastructure including racks, servers, and power systems such as rectifiers and battery banks. Additionally, the role covers cloud and virtualization platforms, network security, and next-generation network elements like softswitches and MSAGs. The position also includes managing transmission network components such as DWDM, SDH, Layer-2 and Layer-3 switches, microwave links, and radio access networks. Oversight of outside plant (OSP) networks, including optical fiber networks (FTTX, GPON) and copper cable networks, is required. The broadband network segment, involving routers, BRAS, switches, and customer premises equipment, also falls under this role. The candidate will manage and deploy technical staff, maintain office discipline, and analyze daily technical and official reports. Strategic planning and design of upcoming projects based on market trends and customer needs are key aspects. Preparation of technical and financial plans for new deployments or repair and maintenance of existing networks and systems is essential. The role also demands defining and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure smooth operations and maintenance of installed networks and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management, planning, and operation of ICT technical platforms, including data centre infrastructure and power systems.
- Oversee cloud and virtualization platforms, network security, and next-generation network elements such as softswitches and MSAGs.
- Manage transmission network components including DWDM, SDH, Layer-2 and Layer-3 switches, microwave, and radio access networks.
- Supervise outside plant (OSP) networks, including optical fiber (FTTX, GPON) and copper cable networks.
- Manage broadband network elements such as routers, BRAS, switches, and customer premises devices.
- Lead and deploy relevant technical staff while maintaining office and staff discipline.
- Maintain and analyze daily official and technical reports.
- Conduct strategic planning and design for upcoming projects aligned with market trends and customer requirements.
- Prepare technical and financial plans for new deployments, repairs, and maintenance of existing networks and systems.
- Define and implement SOPs and processes to ensure smooth operations and maintenance of installed networks and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council.
- Acceptable qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- Associate Degrees in Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, or Data Sciences.
- BS degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication & Networking, Electrical Engineering (Power), Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, and related fields.
- B.Tech (Hons), BE degrees in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering (Telecom), Computer Systems Engineering, and other related disciplines.
