The Assistant Head Nurse (AHN) plays a vital role in ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care by planning and managing both workforce and material resources in accordance with organizational policies. This position supports the Head Nurse, Deputy Manager, or Manager in overseeing assigned clinical areas, focusing on maintaining high standards of patient care, operational efficiency, and human resource management. The AHN is committed to upholding professional nursing practices, including infection control and patient safety, as part of ongoing quality improvement efforts. Additionally, the role involves active participation in preparing for Primary Health Care (PHC) audits, conducting high-profile rounds, and accompanying senior staff during clinical rounds.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and allocate nursing workforce and material resources efficiently to meet patient care demands.
- Assist senior nursing management in supervising and managing designated clinical areas.
- Ensure the delivery of quality nursing care aligned with organizational policies and professional standards.
- Implement and monitor infection control protocols and patient safety measures to promote continual quality improvement.
- Participate actively in the preparation and execution of PHC audits and high-profile clinical rounds.
- Accompany senior nursing staff during clinical rounds, providing support and facilitating communication between teams.
- Contribute to operational and human resource management within the nursing department.
- Uphold and promote professional nursing standards and ethical practices at all times.

Required Qualifications

- Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license.
- Proven experience in nursing management or supervisory roles within a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing care standards, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate nursing activities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Competence in managing human resources and operational tasks in a healthcare environment.
