Mustafa Developers is looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Assistant Manager – Tax to manage daily taxation activities and ensure strict compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, tax reconciliations, FBR compliance, and handling tax audits and notices. This role demands a proactive professional capable of efficiently managing tax processes while collaborating with various internal departments and external authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and ensure timely filing of Income Tax and Sales Tax returns.
- Manage monthly withholding tax calculations, deductions, and statements.
- Ensure accurate and prompt submission of all tax-related reports and declarations.
- Maintain organized and complete tax records along with supporting documentation.
- Monitor tax deductions to ensure compliance across company transactions.
- Coordinate with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other relevant tax authorities.
- Handle tax notices, correspondence, assessments, audits, and related matters.
- Assist in tax audits by providing necessary information and documentation.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, notifications, and compliance requirements.
- Advise management and accounts teams on applicable tax implications.
- Perform regular reconciliation of tax ledgers and returns.
- Review sales, purchases, expenses, withholding, and other transactions for tax compliance.
- Identify tax discrepancies and coordinate their timely resolution.
- Assist in developing tax-efficient and compliant processes.
- Coordinate with Accounts, Finance, Procurement, and other departments on taxation matters.
- Liaise with external tax consultants and auditors when required.
- Prepare tax-related management information system (MIS) reports for management.
- Maintain tax calendars and ensure all statutory deadlines are met.
Required Qualifications
- ACCA, CA Inter, CMA, M.Com, MBA Finance, or equivalent qualification.
- Professional tax qualification or relevant certification is an advantage.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant taxation experience.
- Strong practical experience in Pakistan’s taxation environment.
- Hands-on experience with FBR portals, tax returns, withholding tax, reconciliations, and tax notices.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Income Tax and Sales Tax laws and regulations.
- Good understanding of withholding tax requirements.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet statutory deadlines.
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in real estate, construction, property development, or project-based businesses is preferred.
- Experience working in a reputable tax consultancy or accounting firm will be considered an asset.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 120,000.
