Unity Foods Limited is looking for a committed Assistant Manager - Compliance to manage and maintain the company’s management systems in line with Food Safety, Halal, and Quality Management System (QMS) standards across the group. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting system documentation updates, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to both national and international regulatory requirements. This role demands close coordination with multiple departments to uphold compliance and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the management system in compliance with Food Safety, Halal, and QMS regulatory standards applicable across the group.
- Support the creation and revision of system documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manuals, work instructions, policies, and procedures related to Food Safety, Halal, and QMS. Collaborate with department custodians and secure approvals from the Management Representative (MR) and Food Safety Team Leader (FSTL).
- Oversee the document control system after approval, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of all records.
- Perform on-site gap analyses, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits, and risk assessments as per the audit schedule. Report findings to respective Heads of Departments (HODs) and monitor corrective actions until closure.
- Conduct in-house training sessions for employees on SOPs, Food Safety, Quality, and Halal compliance to enhance awareness and adherence.
- Participate in external audits related to the implemented national and international standards.
- Follow up with concerned HODs on corrective actions for all internal and external audit reports, ensuring documented evidence is maintained.
- Monitor and verify compliance activities during scheduled audits to ensure the management system remains effective.
- Collect and maintain relevant data to provide inputs for Management Review Meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology or a related discipline.
- 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, preferably within Food and Beverage manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems, Food Safety, Halal compliance, and conducting both internal and external audits.
