The Assistant Manager Credit Recovery supports the Credit Recovery Manager in protecting the companys cash flow by ensuring invoices are collected on time, credit is effectively controlled, and overdue debt is minimized. The role monitors the balance between recoverable and payable amounts, assesses customer creditworthiness and payment behavior, and ensures customers adhere to agreed credit terms, preventing the company from unnecessarily financing their businesses. The post holder also supervises the credit control team and acts as the escalation point for difficult accounts.


Responsibilities
  • Monitor customer accounts regularly, including credit limits, outstanding invoices, and payment performance to ensure timely collections.
  • Assess customer credit risk by evaluating financial information and payment histories, and enforce adherence to agreed payment terms.
  • Identify customers who exceed credit limits or delay payments consistently, and escalate these cases for further action.
  • Minimize overdue and aged debt through effective debt collection strategies and prompt resolution of customer disputes.
  • Oversee the balance between recoverable and payable amounts to support strong cash-flow management for the company.
  • Prevent unauthorized or extended credit usage that could negatively impact the companys finances.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the credit control team, promoting skill development and adherence to collection procedures.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult accounts and complex credit control issues, applying problem-solving to resolve challenges.
  • Prepare and analyze regular reports on debt status, collections progress, credit exposure, and cash-flow risks to inform management decisions.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations departments to address and resolve disputes or issues related to customer accounts.
  • Set and ensure achievement of collection targets for the credit control team, driving performance improvements where necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with credit policies and procedures to reduce financial risk and enhance the companys credit position.
