Assistant Manager-Denim Machine Maintenance

Sapphire Fibres Limited (SFL), a leading vertically integrated textile company and a flagship entity of the Sapphire Group, is seeking an Assistant Manager for Denim Machine Maintenance. Established in 1979 and publicly listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange, SFL operates multiple manufacturing units across Punjab, including a key facility on Raiwind Road, Lahore. The Assistant Manager will be based full-time on-site in Lahore, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of denim production machinery. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime and maintaining high equipment performance through effective maintenance planning and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the maintenance and repair activities of denim manufacturing machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce machine breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily tasks of maintenance technicians, including shift management and workload distribution.
- Collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational needs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including documentation of repairs, spare parts usage, and equipment performance metrics.
- Conduct root cause analysis of machine failures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing machine reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with established safety standards and manufacturing regulations.
- Liaise with vendors and external service providers for specialized repairs and technical support when required.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of textile or denim manufacturing machinery.
- Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead maintenance teams and manage shift operations effectively.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance planning and execution to minimize downtime.
- Sound knowledge of maintenance management practices, including documentation, spare parts planning, and performance tracking.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices within manufacturing environments.
- Ability to analyze technical problems, interpret machine manuals, and communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills suited for a fast-paced production setting.
