The role involves managing the operations and maintenance of core data center locations within the region, ensuring strict compliance with SLA requirements for network availability. This includes overseeing critical infrastructure such as power systems, cooling, environmental equipment, and safety systems. The position requires providing technical support for the planning, design, and deployment of new data center installations and projects. Additionally, the role encompasses security and colocation management related to power and space sharing, maintaining uninterrupted facility operations, and ensuring 24/7 team availability for work order execution and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operations and maintenance of power, cooling, and environmental infrastructure equipment, including generators, HVAC systems, fire safety systems, grounding, transformers, rectifiers, UPS, LT panels, and switchgear (ATS, MTS, AMF, PFI, PCP).
- Provide technical support for data center planning, design, installation, and deployment projects.
- Oversee security and colocation management for power and space sharing within core locations.
- Ensure continuous, uninterrupted operation of facility equipment in line with defined SLAs, including 24/7 team availability for support and work order execution.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and annual plans for all equipment to maintain smooth network operations.
- Monitor data center performance using maintenance indicators such as asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and serviceability index to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships, including service level management, contract compliance, invoice verification, and enforcement of penalties for SLA violations.
- Conduct regular reviews of asset operation, performance, and reliability to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate issues proactively, and identify cost-saving improvements.
- Maintain inventory of critical spares to ensure availability for emergency repairs.
- Prepare reports, analyze operational data, and recommend solutions for energy cost optimization and maintenance challenges.
- Ensure maintenance teams are well-trained, equipped, and motivated to deliver safe, timely, high-quality, and cost-effective services.
- Set performance standards for operations and maintenance teams, conduct evaluations, and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Perform regular audits of power, cooling, and environmental equipment at core locations, engage vendors promptly for abnormalities, and escalate issues to management and headquarters.
- Assist in data center planning, including preparation of BOQs, drawings, budgeting, installation supervision, renovation works, site commissioning, and handover coordination.
- Support vendor evaluation, selection, SLA contract review, execution, and ongoing performance monitoring against defined KPIs.
- Manage security and access control for all regional core locations, enforcing strict entry procedures, gate pass systems, work order monitoring, and incident reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing operations and maintenance of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and environmental systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of generators, HVAC, fire systems, grounding, transformers, rectifiers, UPS, LT panels, and switchgear equipment.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution.
- Vendor management skills, including contract compliance and performance monitoring.
- Ability to analyze operational data and prepare detailed reports.
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate maintenance teams.
