We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Finance to join a leading packaging company based in Karachi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing accurate and timely financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing payroll updates, maintaining provident and gratuity fund records, handling tax-related submissions, and coordinating with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and tax authorities. The position requires strong expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance tasks to support the company’s financial health and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly, following accounting principles and regulations.
- Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes related to job titles, departments, and payment structures.
- Maintain proper records of Provident Fund and Gratuity Fund in accordance with applicable rules and arrange regular validation meetings.
- Manage personal income tax return tasks for individual assessees.
- Submit salary payment statements under section 108 to the tax circle.
- Submit employee return filings under section 108A to the tax circle.
- Review the accuracy of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and VDS (Value Deducted at Source) deductions.
- Issue certificates for tax deductions.
- Submit withholding tax returns under section 75A to the tax circle.
- Assist with company tax returns and tax appeal-related activities.
- Verify monthly Mushak 9.1 returns.
- Support transfer pricing audit tasks.
- Handle credit rating-related responsibilities.
- Submit FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) reports to the bank.
- Manage dividend repatriation processes.
- Submit returns to the Registrar Joint Stock Companies (RJSC).
- Perform Schedule X and FORM XII related tasks.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and international customer reconciliations.
- Prepare cash flow statements and forecasts.
- Compile monthly and yearly financial position reports.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and tax authorities.
- Participate in yearly budgeting activities.
- Extract and input data from various sources into accounting systems and verify related tasks.
- Handle customer and supplier settlements.
- Resolve ledger settlement issues within Microsoft Dynamics Axapta.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws, payroll management, and financial reporting.
- Experience with statutory compliance, tax submissions, and audit processes.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation and cash flow management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Axapta or similar ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple financial tasks and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders.
