Assistant Manager - Greige Fabric Procurement

This role involves managing the procurement of greige fabric to support fabric processing operations efficiently. The candidate will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness. The position requires a proactive approach to supplier coordination, inventory management, and continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in managing the end-to-end procurement process of greige fabric, ensuring materials are available on time for fabric processing operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers on sourcing strategies, pricing negotiations, quality standards, and delivery schedules to meet production demands.
- Support supplier development initiatives and maintain strong relationships to achieve cost reduction and quality improvement targets.
- Collaborate with Production Planning, Merchandising, and Operations teams to align procurement activities with production requirements and timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance, fabric quality, market trends, and address any supply chain issues proactively.
- Assist in optimizing inventory levels, driving cost-saving initiatives, and enhancing procurement processes through continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience specifically in greige fabric procurement within the textile industry.
- Strong expertise in greige fabric sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of fabric specifications, quality parameters, and procurement workflows.
