The Internal Audit Officer will play a critical role in ensuring compliance and operational integrity within the Community Health Directorate (CHD) project across Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta offices. This position involves conducting pre-audit and compliance checks on invoices and payment vouchers, assisting in program report reviews, and supporting the achievement of departmental goals. The role requires close collaboration with the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, and other departments to maintain effective internal controls and timely completion of audit assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-audit and compliance checks of all invoices and payment vouchers originating from Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta offices under the CHD project, reporting any discrepancies or shortcomings to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit.
- Assist the supervisor during field visits to review program reports at various locations in Peshawar and Quetta as directed.
- Support the department in achieving its goals and objectives by following the supervisor’s guidance on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in operational activities related to CHD projects based in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and other districts, providing detailed observations to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit.
- Ensure timely planning, execution, and reporting of audits, including submission of draft reports, preparation of comprehensive working papers, and finalization of audit reports.
- Regularly follow up on audit assignments to monitor progress and ensure effective and efficient completion.
- Review the effectiveness of internal control systems and verify compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with other departments to build strong working relationships and foster trust.
- Undertake special assignments as directed by the supervisor from time to time.
Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or an equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in internal audit, compliance, or a related field.
