The Internal Audit Officer will be responsible for conducting pre-audit and compliance checks of invoices and payment vouchers from the Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta offices under the Community Health Directorate (CHD) project. This role involves identifying and reporting any discrepancies or shortcomings to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit. The officer will assist the supervisor during program report reviews at various locations and support the achievement of departmental goals through ongoing operational activities related to CHD projects across multiple districts. Timely planning, execution, and reporting of audits are critical to this position, along with maintaining effective communication with other departments to foster collaboration and trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-audit and compliance checks on all invoices and payment vouchers from Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta offices under the CHD project, reporting any issues to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit.
- Assist the supervisor during visits to review program reports at various locations in Peshawar and Quetta as directed.
- Support the achievement of departmental goals and objectives by following supervisor instructions on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in operational activities of CHD projects based in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and other districts, providing detailed observations to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit.
- Ensure timely planning, execution, and reporting of audits, including submission of draft reports, preparation of complete working papers, and finalization of audit reports.
- Regularly follow up on audit assignments to ensure their effective and efficient completion.
- Review the effectiveness of internal control systems and ensure compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Liaise with other departments to build strong working relationships and trust.
- Perform special assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in internal audit or compliance roles, preferably within healthcare or non-profit sectors.
- Strong understanding of audit processes, internal controls, and compliance standards.
- Ability to analyze financial documents such as invoices and payment vouchers with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple audit assignments simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to report findings clearly and liaise with various departments.
- Willingness to travel to project locations such as Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta as required.
