Assistant Manager - Payables-Finance

This role involves managing the entire Accounts Payable (AP) process with a focus on high-volume invoice processing, ensuring accurate three-way matching between purchase orders, goods receipts, and invoices. The position requires executing weekly payment runs specifically for logistics and retail operations. The successful candidate will serve as the main point of contact for vendors, addressing and resolving complex billing disputes, freight charge discrepancies, and retail rebate or chargeback issues. Additionally, the role demands maintaining accuracy through month-end accruals, vendor statement reconciliations, and upkeep of master data integrity. Continuous process improvement is also a key aspect, including identifying bottlenecks in the procure-to-pay cycle and supporting automation efforts. Other related tasks and projects may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including processing large volumes of invoices and ensuring three-way matching (PO/GR/Invoice).
- Execute weekly payment runs for logistics and retail sectors.
- Act as the primary liaison with vendors to resolve billing disputes, freight charge variances, and retail rebate or chargeback issues.
- Perform month-end accruals and reconcile vendor statements to maintain financial accuracy.
- Maintain clean and accurate master data related to vendor accounts.
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the procure-to-pay cycle and contribute to automation initiatives.
- Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably within Retail, E-commerce, or Logistics industries.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in auditing complex logistics billing and negotiating resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage vendor relationships and resolve issues professionally.
