Key Responsibilities

AMI Smart Metering Roll-out: Support the execution of the approved smart meter roll-out strategy to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Assist in developing a 10-year smart meter roll-out plan and communicate the finalized strategy to end users. Collaborate with operational teams to compile annual growth plans and facilitate the implementation of smart metering rollouts, ensuring proper system installation and integration with Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS). Coordinate with internal departments to plan backend system upgrades aligned with smart meter growth and continuously monitor rollout progress to ensure resource availability.

System Upgradation Projects: Assist in upgrading existing AMI Headend Systems (HES) hardware and software to incorporate the latest technology and accommodate increased meter volumes. Coordinate with IT and Headend Systems teams for capacity enhancements and secure necessary approvals for scope and budget. Facilitate vendor engagement for scope of work finalization, data migration, and system upgrades with minimal downtime. Support the annual Service Level Agreement (SLA) sign-off process with AMI vendors and ensure timely payments to maintain uninterrupted vendor support.

AMI New Technology Research and Development: Conduct research and feasibility studies on emerging smart metering technologies suitable for the organization’s AMI landscape. Identify potential areas for AMI implementation by exploring international use cases and aligning them with business needs. Engage with vendors and service providers to evaluate solutions, perform technical and commercial assessments, and ensure compliance with company standards. Conduct field surveys to finalize product specifications and solution architecture, and assist in vendor selection and technical scope of work preparation.

AMI New Technology Initiatives Implementation: Support projects integrating AMI with other technologies such as GIS and SCADA, following change management protocols. Coordinate all project phases including design, quality assurance, planning, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and final delivery. Oversee on-field execution, resolve issues in real-time, and monitor project schedule, scope, and budget using appropriate KPIs and tools. Manage change control processes and conduct comprehensive testing and training sessions for end users. Implement cut-over strategies to ensure smooth transitions from legacy systems to new technologies.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in project management or AMI-related roles
