We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Compliance Officer to manage and oversee all tax-related activities in line with applicable laws, regulations, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns, handling income tax matters, withholding tax calculations, and sales tax compliance. This role requires close coordination with various departments and tax authorities to maintain compliance and optimize tax processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day tax compliance activities in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and FBR guidelines.
- Prepare, review, and ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and statements.
- Handle income tax matters including advance tax calculations, annual returns, tax provisions, and related documentation.
- Oversee withholding tax (WHT) calculations, deductions, deposits, reconciliations, and preparation of withholding statements.
- Ensure correct application of withholding tax rates on vendor payments, services, contracts, salaries, and other transactions.
- Manage sales tax compliance, including preparation and review of sales tax workings, returns, input/output tax reconciliations, and supporting documents.
- Reconcile sales tax, withholding tax, and income tax ledgers with the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Review tax implications of business transactions and provide guidance to Finance, Procurement, HR, and other departments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records, workings, certificates, challans, returns, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor tax payment and filing deadlines, maintaining a comprehensive tax compliance calendar.
- Handle correspondence and coordination with FBR, PRA/SRB/KPRA/PRA, or other relevant tax authorities as applicable.
- Assist in tax audits, assessments, notices, and inquiries, coordinating with consultants and tax authorities when required.
- Review tax notices and prepare responses, supporting documents, and reconciliations.
- Support management of tax assessments, appeals, refunds, exemptions, and tax certificates.
- Monitor changes in tax laws, Finance Acts, notifications, circulars, and regulations, communicating relevant impacts to management.
- Assist in preparing tax provisions, deferred tax workings, and other tax-related schedules in coordination with Finance and Accounts teams.
- Conduct periodic reviews to identify tax risks, compliance gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist in developing and implementing effective tax policies, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate with external tax consultants, auditors, and internal stakeholders on taxation matters.
- Prepare tax reports, management information system (MIS) updates, reconciliations, and management reports as required.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper maintenance of sensitive tax and financial information.

Required Qualifications

- CA Inter, ACCA, ICMA, M.Com, MBA Finance, B.Com, or equivalent qualification.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in taxation, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Withholding Tax.
- Good knowledge of Pakistan’s tax laws and FBR compliance requirements.
- Experience in handling tax returns, reconciliations, audits, notices, and tax documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar is preferred.
- Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Work Location

The position offers a competitive salary starting from Rs150,000 per month. This role requires in-person attendance at the designated work location.
