This position involves providing support to the Aftercare Teacher in supervising and caring for children after regular school hours. The role focuses on ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can participate in educational and recreational activities. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of childcare and early childhood development, along with strong communication skills and patience to effectively work with young children. Responsibilities include assisting with homework, organizing activities, maintaining discipline, and ensuring the overall well-being of the children during aftercare hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise children during aftercare hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist in managing daily routines, recreational activities, and educational tasks such as homework, reading, and drawing.
- Support children in maintaining personal hygiene and provide assistance with snacks and other basic needs.
- Maintain a positive and child-friendly environment while enforcing discipline.
- Monitor children’s behavior and promptly report any concerns to the Aftercare Teacher or Incharge.
- Ensure accurate attendance records and verify that children are released only to authorized individuals.
- Keep the aftercare area clean, organized, and safe for all children.
- Assist the Aftercare Teacher in the smooth operation of day-to-day activities within the aftercare program.
Required Qualifications
- Essential: Intermediate level education.
- Essential Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in childcare or related roles.
- Essential Skills: Basic knowledge of childcare and early childhood development; good communication and interpersonal skills; patience and ability to engage effectively with young children; ability to assist with homework and organize simple educational and recreational activities; basic understanding of child safety, hygiene, and first aid; responsible, attentive, cooperative, and well-mannered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity is preferred.

Candidates may be disqualified for reasons including a third division in academic records, weak academic profiles, being currently enrolled in a required degree program, or being medically unfit. Employees of NUST with less than one year of service or without a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their Head of Institution are not eligible.
