Associate Developer, SQL and UNIX operating system

We are looking for a motivated Associate Developer with a solid foundation in Big Data technologies to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines and applications within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. Working closely with senior engineers, you will help build scalable and efficient solutions to process and analyze large datasets. This position offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your technical skills while contributing to a data-driven organization. The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days per week onsite at a designated TransUnion office, with the remainder of the work performed virtually.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable data pipelines using Spark, Scala, and Python.
- Write efficient, maintainable code primarily in Scala and Python.
- Design and implement data models and SQL queries to optimize data access and analysis.
- Build and deploy data solutions within a cloud-based GCP environment.
- Support the development and maintenance of data infrastructure.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines and applications.
- Document data pipelines and system architecture to support knowledge sharing and maintenance.
- Stay current with emerging Big Data technologies and industry trends.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience working with SQL and UNIX operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Scala programming.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience working within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Certifications related to GCP cloud platforms are a plus.
