Associate, Director’s Office Labs & OHS

The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Division of Clinical Labs and Outreach Health Services is a leading diagnostic service provider across Pakistan. With a CAP-accredited Clinical Laboratory at its main campus, supported by over 300 specimen collection units and 13 stat labs nationwide, the division plays a vital role in meeting the country’s healthcare needs. The Associate in the Director’s Office will be a pivotal resource, offering operational, analytical, and project management support to Clinical Laboratories, Outreach Health Services, and Medical Centers. This role involves facilitating communication with internal stakeholders, supporting business and financial analysis, coordinating projects, preparing reports, monitoring action plans, and liaising with central departments and outreach facilities. The position demands strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to help achieve departmental goals and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Financial Analysis:
- Conduct business analysis to identify operational efficiencies, opportunities for service expansion, and cost optimization.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), productivity, volumes, revenue, and expenditure trends.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Project Coordination & Management:
- Coordinate projects within the Director’s portfolio, tracking timelines, progress, and deliverables.
- Follow up with project owners to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Organize project meetings, document minutes, and monitor action items.
Medical Center & Outreach Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for communication and coordination with Medical Centers and Outreach facilities.
- Monitor operational challenges and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.
- Support the rollout of new initiatives, policies, and service improvements.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Liaise with AKUH central and support departments including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, IT, Facilities, Quality, Marketing, and Clinical Services.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth execution of business priorities.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
- Prepare executive summaries, business reports, presentations, briefing papers, and strategic updates.
- Compile and analyze data from multiple sources to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain project documentation, operational trackers, and departmental records.
- Monitor implementation of decisions and follow up on pending actions and deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Ensure timely dissemination of operational updates, reports, and directives.
- Promote effective communication between Outreach regions, Clinical Laboratories, Medical Centers, and central departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Healthcare Management, Finance, Economics, Public Health, Health Systems Management, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in healthcare operations, project coordination, business analysis, consulting, or healthcare administration. Experience in hospitals, laboratories, outreach healthcare, or healthcare service organizations is preferred.
- Proven skills in project management, stakeholder coordination, data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of business and financial analysis, project coordination, data analytics, and performance reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong follow-up and coordination capabilities.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality at all times.
