Associate Principal - Software Engineering

We are looking for a seasoned Data Analytics professional to lead enterprise-wide data modernization, cloud analytics, AI enablement, and data strategy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake, AWS, data engineering, analytics governance, and AI/GenAI solutions. This role requires the ability to drive business transformation by designing scalable data platforms and delivering intelligent analytics that align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy and Architecture:
Develop and define the enterprise data strategy roadmap along with the target-state architecture. Design modern, cloud-based data platforms utilizing Snowflake and AWS technologies. Establish robust frameworks for data governance, security, metadata management, and data quality. Lead data modernization and migration efforts from legacy systems to cloud environments.

Snowflake Platform Leadership:
Architect and implement scalable Snowflake solutions optimized for performance, workload management, clustering, and storage efficiency. Enforce role-based access control (RBAC), data masking, secure data sharing, and governance policies. Drive FinOps initiatives to optimize Snowflake costs and resource utilization.

AWS Data Engineering:
Design and build data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and CloudWatch. Develop both batch and real-time data ingestion frameworks. Create scalable ELT/ETL solutions that support enterprise analytics platforms. Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices to ensure automation and reliability.

Analytics and Business Intelligence:
Develop comprehensive enterprise analytics frameworks and define key performance indicators (KPIs). Enable self-service analytics capabilities using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Translate complex business requirements into actionable analytical solutions. Champion data democratization initiatives to empower business users.

AI Data Enablement:
Design, develop, and operationalize AI and GenAI solutions leveraging Snowflake Cortex, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and AI agents. Enable natural language to SQL (NL2SQL) and AI-powered analytics applications. Define AI governance, monitoring, security, and responsible AI practices. Collaborate closely with data science and business teams to identify and prioritize AI use cases.

Stakeholder Management:
Engage with business leaders and executives to ensure alignment of data strategy with overall business objectives. Lead workshops, architecture reviews, and solution design discussions. Mentor engineering teams and promote best practices across data and analytics functions.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience with Snowflake architecture and administration.
- Proficiency in AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, IAM, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Expertise in data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and Medallion architecture.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools like Matillion, Informatica, Talend, and DBT.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Solid understanding of data governance and security frameworks.
- Experience with AI/ML and GenAI platforms including Snowflake Cortex and Cortex Analyst/Search.

Functional Skills:
- Proven ability to plan and execute data strategy roadmaps.
- Strong business analytics acumen.
- Expertise in enterprise data governance and architecture.
- Excellent stakeholder management and program leadership capabilities.

Experience:
- 12 to 16 years of experience in data analytics.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Demonstrated expertise in AWS cloud implementations.
- Proven track record leading enterprise data modernization programs.
- Experience implementing AI/GenAI-enabled data platforms.

Mandatory Skills: AWS Cloud Architecture, AWS Lambda, Python, Snowflake.
