A premier Non- Government Policy Think-tank institute which produces policy and knowledge to enhance the capacity and making informed policy decision is looking for following positions.
POSITION OBJECTIVES
Develop her/his own robust research and policy outreach agenda on Gender and related sub themes, especially gender mainstreaming in sectoral policies. This would be an integral part of broader trans-disciplinary research agenda approved by the Board of Governors of SOrganization as a tool to achieve sustainable development;
Undertake (primary and secondary) research and administer research projects. Mentor mid-career researchers. Produce research publications in area of expertise. Prepare and submit project proposals for fund raising.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop a research and outreach program in Gender and related sub themes, especially gender mainstreaming in sectoral policies in social, economic, environment, humanitarian and development sectors as a tool to achieve sustainable development and gender equality. Undertake original research around selected theme within the overall research programs related to Climate Change in line with the approval by the Board of Governors of Organization.
- Manage and administer research projects, supervise project staff and ensure preparation of quality narrative reports.
- Responsible for soliciting funds to support his/her research programs. The fellow is required to generate at least US $ 50,000 in the first two years and during the third year, at least US $ 80,000.
- Publish at least one paper annually for a peer reviewed journal of international repute.
- Coordinate and manage research projects involving other researchers from within or outside the Institute, and for this purpose conceptualize and design planning meetings, follow-up on research contracts, establish deadlines and standards for research papers, and peer review/finalize the research publications in area of expertise.
- Conceptualize and design research conferences, workshops, seminars, and other dissemination tools for research uptake.
- Edit and compile research papers for publication as monographs or edited volumes.
- Respond to requests for policy advice from public and private sector, directly or through the Executive Director/Fellows’ Council, in the area of expertise.
- Provide support to Organization’s Centre for Learning and Development by delivering at least one 3-day training course or three 1-day courses in a year.
- Contribute to the research and other work of the Organization research faculty.
- Contribute at least two papers in a year to the working paper series and research reports of the Institute.
- Deliver a minimum of two seminars in a year and contribute to the weekly seminar series as a participant as required.
- Contribute in electronic and print media on issues around sustainable development in general, and issues of public policy and governance in particular.
Education
PhD from Internationally Recognized and Chartered University
(PhD from recognized institution abroad will be preferred)
