The role involves providing governance and oversight for the implementation of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) policies and procedures within Pakistan. The incumbent will ensure adherence to these policies while supporting stakeholders in making informed decisions based on current and anticipated regulatory requirements, industry practices, and emerging trends. This position requires close collaboration with various teams to maintain compliance and manage risks related to financial crime.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure timely communication and dissemination of key regulatory changes, coordinating with group communications to cascade updates across the region and country.
- Monitor and advise stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, laws, best practices, and Group policies related to FCC, including compliance with sanctions standards.
- Manage and resolve alerts and cases, including performing customer sanctions reviews on rejected transactions.
- Assist the Head of FCC in reviewing the Sanction Risk Assessment Form (SRAF).
- Understand and utilize technical systems relevant to case management and name screening.
- Establish and maintain watch lists for customer and transaction screening, supporting due diligence and investigative processes using both internal and external sources.
- Provide guidance on the application of risk management frameworks and apply Group and FCC policies to manage risks effectively.
- Recommend and implement risk management responses based on identified risks or investigation findings.
- Assess risks associated with products, customer segments, geographies, and individual clients.
- Identify financial crime risk indicators from various sources that may impact the bank and its clients.
- Implement methodologies for sanctions risk identification and assessment, advising stakeholders on outcomes.
- Provide intelligence to internal forums regarding specific clients, client types, and emerging risk typologies.
- Support FCC control checks under the Operational Risk Framework (ORF).
- Take accountability for identifying and escalating potential risks and issues to senior management through appropriate governance channels and the Quality Assurance framework.
- Analyze and interpret data to produce reports that help the bank identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities, driving remediation actions within the FCC function.

Required Qualifications

- Strong understanding of financial crime compliance, sanctions regulations, and risk management frameworks.
- Experience with case management systems and name screening technologies.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively advise and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve complex compliance issues.
