Associate Software Engineer

Matacs Technologies Inc. is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join its innovative team. This role involves collaborating with senior engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and back-end web services. The successful candidate will write clean and efficient code, participate in code reviews, debug and resolve technical issues, and contribute to system architecture discussions. Additionally, the role requires documenting technical specifications and working closely with cross-functional teams. This full-time position is remote but based in Pakistan, offering an opportunity to grow by learning best practices in software engineering and object-oriented programming within a forward-thinking technology company.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop software applications and back-end services.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Participate actively in code reviews to ensure code quality and consistency.
- Debug and resolve technical issues promptly to maintain system stability.
- Contribute to discussions on system architecture and software design improvements.
- Document technical specifications and development processes clearly.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product management and QA.
- Continuously learn and apply best practices in software engineering and object-oriented programming.

Required Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Hands-on experience or academic coursework in software development and programming. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as React, Python, or JavaScript is essential.
- Knowledge of back-end web development, including APIs, web frameworks, and database management (SQL or NoSQL).
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts with the ability to apply them in practical projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot problems and propose effective solutions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Karachi when required.
