Power BI Expert

The Position:

We are looking to hire a Power BI Developer who will utilize his passion for reporting, analytics, data visualization, data science and advanced analytics to drive BI initiatives for the division. The Power BI Developer utilizes strong data management, integration, and analytical skills to support BI initiatives in a Customer Centric environment. As a key member of the development team, this position will work with customers, internal stakeholders and management to provide superior reporting and analytics to our customers.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Design, build and maintain appropriate database objects, warehouse builds, ETL jobs, Online Analytical Processing ( "OLAP ) models, and user-friendly reporting that meet specifications
• Design, build and deploy embedded BI solutions (Dashboards, Standard Reports, ADHOC Self Service, Scorecards) using industry BI tools
• Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data warehouse or source systems
• Analyze and migrate existing reporting tools into BI tools (MITS, Crystal reports, Adobe LiveCycle, etc.)
• Create Power BI reports based on business requirements with linked content, drilldowns, and nested parameters.
• Optimize Microsoft Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
• Understand cloud migration techniques (on premise to Cloud Platforms)
• Performance tune products including, but not limited to, load balancing, caching, etc
• Create and administer App Workspaces to control permissions and access to PBI dashboard.
• Partner with the application DBAs to source necessary data, map source data to target structures, and define query methods.
• Ensure reports meet data accuracy, query performance, usability and functionality requirements.

The selected individual will work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Desired Skills and Responsibilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of the Microsoft technology stack (Azure SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, Tabular Reporting Services etc.)
• Hands on experience with Embedded reporting
• Solid communication skills that demonstrate confidence with technology and business process.
• 3+ years' experience in querying relational database systems, specifically: SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• 3+ years' experience in visual report development using any platform
• Strong knowledge in Data Design, Data Modelling, and ETL best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical solutions to various levels of the organization

Nice to have:

• Master's degree in Information Technology studies.
• Hands on experience of cloud migration techniques (on premise to Cloud Platforms)
• Hands on experience on Azure Cloud (PaaS/IaaS) Technology
