AutoCAD Specialist

In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will serve as an AutoCAD Specialist (Subject Matter Expert) responsible for creating realistic and challenging computer-based tasks using AutoCAD and associated drafting workflows. Your role involves designing practical CAD tasks, clearly documenting them in SuperAnnotate, ensuring your computer setup supports the task requirements, and recording yourself performing these tasks on your computer. The tasks will cover a range of AutoCAD functions such as 2D drafting, drawing setup, layers, dimensions, blocks, layouts, title blocks, plotting, file organization, annotations, and xrefs. You may also be required to develop task prompts, demonstrate correct workflow execution, and produce clear, realistic recordings that are valuable for AI training purposes.

Key Responsibilities

- Create realistic AutoCAD tasks by developing challenging and practical assignments executable on a computer, then document these tasks clearly within SuperAnnotate.
- Prepare your work environment by ensuring AutoCAD is installed, necessary files and templates are ready, and all references are available before recording begins.
- Record yourself executing the AutoCAD tasks while adhering to project instructions, ensuring the workflow is clear, complete, and realistic.
- Provide comprehensive task context, including steps, goals, files, and notes, so reviewers can fully understand the task and its completion process.
- Demonstrate practical use of AutoCAD software by completing workflows involving drafting, layers, dimensions, blocks, layouts, plotting, annotations, xrefs, or drawing cleanup as applicable.
- Maintain high submission quality by reviewing recordings and documentation prior to submission to ensure tasks are complete, understandable, realistic, and aligned with project guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- Proven hands-on experience using AutoCAD for drafting, technical drawings, layouts, annotations, dimensions, plotting, or related CAD workflows.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher to accurately comprehend project instructions, document tasks clearly, and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Comfortable with computer operations including file management, installing and opening required software, navigating interfaces, and recording workflows.
- Ability to design realistic and challenging AutoCAD tasks that reflect genuine use cases in drafting, design, documentation, engineering, architecture, or technical drawing.
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD fundamentals such as model space, paper space, layers, lineweights, blocks, dimensions, annotations, layouts, viewports, and plotting.
- Capability to ensure your setup fully supports task requirements, including having AutoCAD installed, files and templates prepared, and references ready before recording.
- High attention to detail in task preparation, workflow execution, and reviewing recordings to confirm completeness and clarity.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to consistently deliver quality work in a remote, hourly contractor role across different time zones.
